Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #105

Oh how I wish my SSS birthday purchase would arrive!!!! I haven't been able to afford to purchase from them many times before with conversion prices and postage etc but always love something from every single SSS release. Well, my mother-in-law gave me some money for my birthday last month and I matched it with some of my own money to make my biggest ever SSS order (although compared to some of the hauls I see on social media, it will seem like a tiny purchase) but for some reason it left Auckland, NZ on the 26th August and still hasn't made it here.....so frustrating as its only 1 hour away by plane....so watch this space!

Anyhoo, the only reason I mention this is that I've become rather addicted to the SSS Flickr Challenge but I don't have many SSS products to use, so I'm really pushing my 'creative mind' to its limits. 

The theme for this challenge is 'Fall/Autumn' and I don't really have any SSS stamps that would go with this, so I decided to use 'fall' colours instead. This card is a mix of a new stamp set and a much older one (actually I don't think you can buy it anymore...I purchased it second hand....), I think they go together just nicely:

I coloured one of the single flower images from SSS 'Beautiful Flowers' using Altenew Artist Markers. I'm a bit disappointed as when I was colouring it last night it had so much depth and detail but when I was making the card I realised it had all blended together. So I definitely need more practice in the 'marker' department....

After colouring the flower (which had been stamped on white CS with Versafine black ink and clear heat embossed), I fussy cut it out and added foam tape to the back. I worked out where I wanted it to sit on the card front and stamped the central leaf/stalk from SSS 'Flower Friend' using Altenew 'Forest Glades'. I then used my MISTI and another curved leaf image from that set, to create a frame around it using Altenew 'Frayed Leaf'.

To keep it simple I heat embossed a sentiment from the same set in gold, fussy cut it out and put on foam tape, and glued on some gold and dark red sequins from Neat and Tangled.

Time for me to go to bed. I'm looking forward to gardening tomorrow, hopefully in the sunshine. And I've got a very loving cat sitting on the desk right in front of me rubbing her face on my chin and trying to get on my shoulder, so I have to give her a cuddle!!
