Winnie and Walter July Colour Challenge with Heather H

All of the rain we've had lately has driven me nuts with having to constantly postpone my gardening, however its given me some time to work on some cards I didn't think I would have time to create!!

Heather H is running the current Winnie and Walter July Colour Challenge and she chose the most beautiful combo. Its been like Spring weather here the last few weeks, very warm days with lots of rain, so I've been seeing a lot of daffodils etc in these colours.

I missed out on the last W&W Rerun Challenge using the W&W 'Mini Scenery: Madison' stamp so decided to use it for this card:

Firstly I cut a panel of light grey CS slightly smaller than the card front and adhered in place. I also cut a piece of it to heat emboss the sentiment in white, using stamps from W&W 'The Big, the Bold and Greetings' and 'The Big, the Bold and Happy'.

On a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth CS I heat embossed the 'Madison' stamp twice in white. Then, using a green Zig Real Color Brush pen and water, I coloured them both. Once they were dry I fussy cut them in the same way and popped them on foam tape on the card front. The flower from W&W 'In Bloom: Addie's Garden' was also heat embossed in white, coloured with a yellow Zig pen and water and fussy cut out. This was put on foam tape as well.

All I had to do then was put the sentiment in place on foam tape and glue on some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

I'm going to link this to The Cats Pajama's Challenge #349 where their theme is 'Birthdays'.

Will also link to the Create Something Catchy August Challenge where their theme is 'Watercolour'.

Time to go and get the washing in. So nice to be able to hang it outside after all the rain this week. We don't own a dryer so its hung in the garage during the day and then on clothes airers in the lounge room by the fire at night. I love the clothes to dry outside in the sun and wind, makes them seem fresher somehow.

Take care
Shona

  2. Oh my, love air dried laundry. Send some of that rain my way. In the meantime, that beautiful card will have to satisfy me...and it does. Right down to my toes.

I too love the washing dried outside, and we have had two days of wall to wall sunshine here...
