The Flower Challenge # 23

Hi everybody!! Another month has disappeared which is frightening but it also means that we have a new theme at The Flower Challenge!!

This month its all about 'One Layer' cards which is one of my favourite cards to make. So that means no layers of paper and not a whole lot of dimension. It can be quite a challenge to not add any extra's but its also cool to see how much interest to can add to a design with no layers on top!!

For my card it was the perfect time to use a new stamp set and squeeze as much of the images on my card front as I could:

In the last Coffee Lovers Blog Hop I was very lucky to win a gift voucher from The Ink Road. I had been desperately wanting two of their floral stamp sets since they were released, so was over the moon to win!!

Using my MISTI I grabbed three of the floral images from The Ink Road 'Bella Flora' stamp set and stamped them a few times each with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink, making sure there was some white space between them. I coloured them all with Altenew Artist Markers and then stamped the 'hello' (from the same stamp set) so it slightly overlapped the flowers. All I had to do then was glue on some sequins from Neat and Tangled.

I can't get over that all the detail that is in the stamp images makes them look almost dimensional on the one layer surface. Goes to show you don't need lots of foam tape etc to create some interest!!

I'm going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'Making your own Background'.

You have until Saturday 25th August to link your projects to The Flower Challenge and if your needing any ideas pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created to inspire you. We will be back with more ideas on the 15th.  Look forward to seeing you in the Gallery!!

Take care
Shona

  1. Love how you use different colors for your florals. It adds so much interest which, as you know, is difficult on a one layer card. But I think you have added the dimension and beauty to make this gorgeous.
