Your Next Stamp - DT Dare

Hi everybody, I'm back with another post as a Guest Designer for Your Next Stamp this month, with their 'DT Dare'!!

This month the DT were dared to 'Pop up or add dimension' to their project using the New Release products. I was dying to try out a technique I saw recently so this was perfect timing:

A green card? Hardly anything on the front?? Whats going on your thinking.....well look inside....:

Yep, along with the rest of the 'card making world' I tried out the Inside Shadow Box Card Technique by Jennifer McGuire. When I saw her video a few weeks ago I fell in love with the idea and desperately wanted to see if I could do it.

I'll be honest, this card took me 2.5hrs to finish!!! The joys of not having the right tools and brain to work it all out.... My 'bone folder' doesn't have a straight edge, my white CS is only 8 1/4 inches wide (I needed 8 1/5 inches) which totally threw me off and I did the measurements for my folding from the wrong direction. There were a few tears and bad words but I didn't give up and I'm so happy with how it turned out!!!!

I'm not even going to try to explain to you how to put this together. Jennifers video here has all the details. I did use the new Honey Bee Stamp and Co-ordinating Dies on my card, and also the new YNS Gumdrops on the front. These were all coloured with pencils. And I used a MFT Stamps 'Cloud Stencil' to create the background with Distress Ink 'Salty Ocean'.

You have a chance to win a stamp set of your choice by heading over to the YNS Blog and leaving a comment on the DT Dare post. You have until July 13 Midnight EST to do this, so pop over there asap!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll be back later in the week with lots more cards!!

Take care
Shona

  1. Love your card and the scene that you created! It is so bright and cheerful. Love that the pop-up is on the inside. Very different, but I LOVE it! The Bee stamp set and dies are so adorable!
