CAS-ual Fridays Stamps is one of the Sponsors for this hop and they are also having a SALE on all of their Coffee and Tea stamps and dies for 'hop week'!!
Spring/Summer is all about flowers for me, being a gardener, so I desperately wanted to create a card with plenty of floral action going on:
I can't believe I managed to stamp a whole card front without getting ink everywhere. I'm so clumsy with my stamping and usually smudge it somewhere with my fingers, so this clean card was a pleasant surprise!! I hadn't quite decided on my design when I made this, so I did it in a strange way so thank goodness it worked out!!
I started by die-cutting some white CS with the Coffee Cup Fri-dies. I doubled over some washi tape and added it to the back of the die-cut and pressed on to the card front. The reason I did this was I was thinking of stamping and removing it so it would have an outline but changed my mind half-way thru...as you do....
Using my MISTI I stamped the leaves and flowers from the new Peaceful Garden stamp set. I don't have many green ink pads, so to stamp the separate leaf detail stamp I just used the same Waffle Flower ink 'Chirp Chirp' and stamped it twice. And it worked!! Once I had finished stamping I used the same coffee cup die to die-cut a dark brown paint chip and inlaid that into the cup on the card.
I didn't want to cover up too much of my stamping, so for the sentiment (from the Cup of Coffee stamp set) I heat embossed it in silver on a piece of plain vellum. I adhered it in place with tape behind the words. I then glued on some pink and clear sequins for a bit of sparkle.
I have four challenges I would like to enter:

Whew, this is one long post!! Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you've been enjoying the blog hop. Almost makes me wish I liked drinking coffee and tea (I'm a hot chocolate kind of gal...).
Take care
Shona
