Winnie and Walter - 2016 World Card Making Day - Pinspiration with Heather H

I'm back with my second entry for the Winnie and Walter - 2016 WCMD Challenges. I managed to get four cards made yesterday which is amazing for me, as sometimes it can take me all day to make just one!!

This time I was inspired by the Pinspiration with Heather H challenge, as she has the most beautiful photo for us to get our ideas from:

Yellow, black and white is always a wonderful colour combo and there are already some incredible entries for this challenge. I decided to keep it CAS and do some blending:

I used some washi tape to mask off the rectangle area in the middle of the card front. Using my mini-blending tool I added Distress Ink 'Mustard Seed' to the area gently. I was then able to stamp the images in black, trying to mirror the pattern. The 'friends' stamp was stamped in black ink and then stamped again with Versamark, so I could heat emboss with clear. This gave the word some shine. I fussy cut it out as best I could and popped it up on foam tape. The rest of the sentiment was simply stamped on a strip of white CS and put on foam tape. And of course I had to add some yellow and clear sequins for a bit of sparkle.

All of the stamps used are from Winnie and Walter. The floral images are from 'In Bloom: Addie's Garden' and 'In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet with Joni Andaya'. The 'friend' stamp is from 'The Big, the Bold and Friends' and the 'forever' from The Big, the Bold and You'. The sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.

I'm also going to link this to another W&W WCMD challenge CAS with Kate as its a very simple design.

I also will link to another W&W WCMD challenge Make a card for a friend with Taheerah. This is dedicated to my wonderful friend Coni of Which Craft?. She is the sweetest woman and always leaves me the most supportive and hilarious comments on my posts. She is incredibly generous too and helped me in so many ways. She is on the other side of the world and hopefully one day we will be able to meet in person so I can give her a HUGE hug!!

I have three other challenges I would like to enter:

CASology Challenge # 218 This is my 4th entry but wanted to link this card as its going to such a supportive friend and my fussy cut word is 'supported' by foam tape....

Stamplorations October CAS Challenge

Simply Create Too Challenge # 119 (black plus one other colour)

Whew, sorry that was so long but always good when I can link one card to many challenges. The kids went off to school this morning and the house is oh so quiet. Its lovely but I do feel kind of lost when they aren't around. I'm sure I can keep myself busy with housework and card making though. And The Exorcist programme was on tv last night, so will be able to watch it really loud without scaring anyone!!

Take care
Shona

  3. How can you be lonely and create cards like this?. This makes me so happy, especially because it is yellow. You've made my day, girl. LOVE THIS CARD and the fact that you mentioned me in this post, honestly makes me so grateful. Are you trying to make me cry??? Hope so, because you did. You're the best, girl. If we ever met, I just know we'd never stop talking or eating.
