Just Add Ink Challenge # 332

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to a new challenge week at Just Add Ink!!  For this weeks challenge theme we have a colour combo for you:

I'll be honest, this colour combo threw me for a loop when I first saw it. It immediately made me think of Halloween but I wasn't in the mood for a scary card quite yet. Luckily some new stamps and dies arrived that gave me a brand new idea:

This little bunny is such a cutey and luckily I know a little girl who's turning 1yr old soon, so this will be perfect for her!

To start, I stamped the bunny on some water colour CS 3x with black Versafine ink. I then stamped the image again over top, (the MISTI is so handy for this) this time with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear powder. This gives the black image outline some shine and dimension to hold in the water colouring. I coloured them using my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and a water brush. I didn't want to leave the bunny white, so gave her very delicate grey fur. I fussy cut them all out and added black pen around the edges.

I die-cut the windows from the card front and added a panel of white CS behind it. I found some orange, pink and yellow paint chips, die-cut each window from them and inlaid the colours in the card front. Each bunny was then popped up on foam tape, the sentiment stamped in black and some orange, yellow and pink sequins added. I hardly ever use orange on my cards but love how these colours look together!!

The bunny and sentiment stamps are from My Favourite Things 'Somebunny' as well as the 'Peek a boo' stitched window dies. The sequins are from Neat and Tangled.

I'm going to link this to the CAS on Sunday Challenge # 93 where their theme is 'Heat Embossing'.

You have until Wednesday 12th October to link your projects to the Just Add Ink challenge and if you need any help or ideas on how to use this colour combo, pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the amazing Design Team have created for you. Looking forward to seeing your cards in the Gallery!!

Take care
Shona

  1. These look like candy colors...and you replicated them perfectly. That bunny is stupid cute and looks even cuter in those apertures you diecut. Positively a winner.

  4. Sooooo sweet. You wouldn't believe it, I had this bunny set in my shopping cart last weekend and ended up taking it out when I had to keep under a certain dollar amount for postage cut off. Your cute card makes me regret that decision! Your colouring is gorgeous, and I love the bright pops of colour using your stitched window dies. x
