Happy Little Stampers - CASE the Designer Challenge - August

Good grief, where did August come from??? I can't believe we are up to the 8th month of the year already. The good thing is that a new month means a new designer to CASE at Happy Little Stampers - CASE the Designer challenge!! 

This month we are CASEing this gorgeous card by Gloria of Gloria's Craft Room.

Isn't this a beauty?!!!!!  The colours are so vibrant and I love the masking idea too. My version uses a similar technique to create the frame but isn't quite as colourful:

I just love the 'Playful Puppies' stamp set from Mama Elephant and thought it would be nice to create another birthday card for a doggie loving friend!!

I cut a panel of white CS slightly smaller than the card front and then die-cut the circle (from Couture Creations). I placed the panel over some scrap paper and stamped the solid and outlined puppy paws around the edge of the circle, not worrying if I went over the edge itself. After stamping the sentiment I popped the panel up on foam tape on the card front.

The puppy was stamped on white CS and coloured with my pencils. I fussy cut him out and went round the edge with a black pen. To ground the image in the circle, I lightly drew with my black pencil to give him somewhere to sit and popped him on some foam tape. I then added some Glossy Accents to the heart and his eyes to make them shine a bit more.

I'm going to link this to the Seize the Birthday Challenge where I'm not adding the topping of 'Pink and Brown'.
