CASology Challenge Week # 209

When I saw the theme for this week's CASology challenge, I was a bit worried because my water colouring skills aren't really the best.

Well, after playing around with a stamp set that I hadn't used yet my imagination suddenly went crazy and I managed to bypass water colouring completely:

Water (usually) is completely clear and when its frozen (usually) its clear as well, so why not have a cute penguin drinking hot chocolate on ice for my card??!!

I stamped this penguin and cup (from Mama Elephant 'Arctic Penguins') on some white CS, coloured his beak and feet and the cup with pencils, and fussy cut them out. I die-cut the circle with a die from Waffle Flower 'Flower Circles' die set and adhered a piece of acetate behind it. I glued the cup to the penguins flipper and popped him up on foam tape, so he could use his ice skates.

The sentiment (from My Favourite Things 'Hug in a Mug') was stamped in black ink and some clear sequins (from Pretty Pink Posh) and red sequin (from Neat and Tangled) were glued on for a bit more shine.

As the circle die has the stitch detail, I'm going to also link this to the AAA Card Challenge # 70 where their theme is:

Better go and pick up Max from school shortly. We took Dave to the airport at 6am this morning (for an overnight job thingie) so will be strange not having him around tonight. Although it means we won't have to fight him for the tv. He loves watching car remodeling programmes, which we don't enjoy at all. So it will be all our tv programmes tonight without a car in sight!!

Take care
Shona

  4. (Ha! Isn't it funny how we all like watching very different TV shows? Hope you enjoyed being in control of the remote!) I love your interpretation of watercolor...yes, ice is a form of water, so that penguin on ice is a very clever take on the cue! Adorable stitched circle window, too! Thanks for playing along at CASology, Shona!
