I just love Joan's card and wanted to try and emulate that gorgeous water colour background. I didn't quite get the brightness I wanted but love these colours blending together:
Firstly I stamped and heat embossed the 'hugs' in white. I then used Distress Inks Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed to water colour the background and dried it with the heat gun. I very carefully stamped the flower and dragonflies in black ink and mounted on a black card base. Not as pretty as Joan's but must try stamping on water colour more often!!
The 'hugs' stamp is from Winnie and Walter 'The Big, the Bold and Friends'. The flower stamp is from Stamplorations - Dee's Artsy Impressions 'Blooming Buds' and the dragonflies from Waffle Flower 'Lotus'.
Will also link this to the Virginia's View Challenge # 19 where their theme is 'Colouring'.
Better go and turn my sprinkler off before I flood the neighbourhood. Its so dry here and only Spring. It was very hot today which was fantastic for gardening, need to pack my sunblock from now on. And I even saw my first peony rose in a deep, wine red....gorgeous!!
Take care
Shona
