Hello there everyone and welcome to another week at Addicted to Stamps and More!!! This week we have one of my favourite challenge themes:
'Clean and Simple' can mean different things to different people but basically it means one central image, hardly any embellishments and not loads and loads of layers. Lots of white space is good too but then again it doesn't have to be white either!!
For my card I was playing around with a new stamp set and decided to make a card just for my kids:
These child images are so sweet and they have the same haircuts as the kids did when they were younger!! Phoebe often tells me how awful she looked with her short bob but she was absolutely adorable!!!
I stamped them on white CS, coloured with pencils and fussy cut out. I was going to have just them together on the card but it was a bit plain so I added a single, large die-cut heart (from a pink paint chip) and popped the kids up on foam tape over top. The sentiment was simply stamped with black ink and I just had to squeeze in a couple of sequins just because. I think they are going to love it!!
The child images are from Neat and Tangled 'Better Together' as well as the sentiment from 'Big Bold Brew'. The heart die is from CAS-ual Fridays 'Heart Board Fri-Dies'. The sequins are also from Neat and Tangled.

Happy Friday everyone on my side of the world. For those of you on the other side, don't worry I will save lots of Friday for you!! Another week has gone by and its time again for a new challenge theme at Just Add Ink!
This one gives you lots of options!! With flowers and water colouring being so popular at the moment, I just know the Gallery is going to be overflowing with gorgeousness this week!
For my card I actually got a little carried away and used all three ideas...that's me, 'no inbetween' as my husband would say. I'm either all or nothing...or procrastinating:
Mmmm, I know your thinking to yourself 'that flower looks familar'. I suddenly realised when I was photographing this that I used the exact same flower on my last JAI card. What can I say, I love it!!
To start off I stamped the flower on some white CS and coloured using my Faber Castell pencils. I fussy cut it out, went around the edge with a black pen and popped to the side. The leaves were stamped on some water colour CS with Versafine black ink and then immediately heat embossed with clear powder. I then used my Gansai Tambi water colour paints to colour them in, and then fussy cut out.
I cut a panel of white CS slightly slimmer than the card front and added a strip of black and white striped washi tape down the side of the card front. The panel was then added on some foam tape. I glued the leaves in place and put the flower on foam tape, along with the sentiment. And you know I can't finish a card without some yummy sequins!!
The flower image is from Studio Katia 'Thank you so much'. The leaves are from My Favourite Things 'Fancy Flowers'. The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps 'Pretty Posies'. The sequins are from Neat and Tangled, and unfortunately I don't know where the washi tape is from.

Well, hello there!! I thought it was about time I bit the bullet and join in a challenge where I'm totally intimidated by the talented people who have already entered!!
I, like many of you, absolutely love Concord and 9th and wish I could afford to buy all of their products. Unfortunately with my limited craft budget I have to be very picky about my purchases and often miss out on buying any of their goodness. They have the most incredible range of floral stamps and dies and the entries in this Creativity meets C9 challenge already are spectacular. If you haven't already discovered this company, I suggest to pop over there right away!!
For my card I was inspired by a new product I hadn't gotten round to using yet and some goodies a friend sent me:
Oh I wish you could see the silver shimmer in real life!! The always fabulous Barb of Barb's Studio Creations sent me some die-cuts a while ago, including Concord and 9th. I desperately wanted to use them but you know what its like when you only have a few of something, you put off using them. I decided this was it and they were getting used!! Thank you so much Barb!
To start off I embossed a panel of white CS and then painted with my new Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Platinum. This stuff goes on like butter and dries so quickly. I cut the panel down and adhered to the card front.
Barb had cut the flower and leaves out of Tim Holtz Watercolour CS, so I used another new product Tombow Dual Brush Pens 'Bright Palette' and water coloured them all. The colour spreads so easily!! Once dry I adhered the leaves in place and put the flower on foam tape.
The sentiment was simply stamped in black ink on white CS, fussy cut out and put on foam tape as well. And of course I had to add some sequins and love the look of the clear one in the middle of the flower.
The embossing folder is from We R Memory Keepers. The sentiment is from Concord and 9th 'Map Love' and the sequins from Neat and Tangled.

Its a very chilly morning but I have gardening to do, so better get my 'A into G'. Hopefully I can finish early enough today to take Bella for a walk. Now that daylight savings is in full swing there isn't much time to walk her after school and the kids don't really want to move after they have made it home. Fingers crossed the weeds will be good to me today!!
