Hi everyone and welcome to my Girl Friday post for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. for the month of October.
October is also 'Breast Cancer Awareness Month' and Michele has coloured the blog pink for the whole month. And all our Girl Friday cards will also have a touch of pink, its a great way to honour all those affected by breast cancer.
For my card I was actually in the mood to add to my Christmas card stash, and as I love Christmas cards in pastel colours I thought this would be a perfect time for a pink one:
This was a little fiddly to put together but you know how much I love fiddly projects and I really like how it turned out!
First up I heat embossed the snowflakes from 'Bring on the Snowflakes' in white. I then used my mini blending tool and Distress Inks 'Picked Raspberry' and 'Worn Lipstick' to colour them. I used the circle die from 'Ornaments Fri-Dies' to cut them both out and also die-cut the ornament tops from white CS and glued them on.
Now for the fiddly part. I cut two little holes in the top fold of the card and threaded some silver thread thru it. One end was tied to the tops of the ornaments and the other was adhered to the inside of the card front. The ornaments were popped up on foam tape and a panel of white CS was glued to the inside to cover the thread.
For the sentiment I kept it simple. I heat embossed the sentiment from 'Snowy Sayings' (which is one of my favourites) in silver on a strip of white CS and popped up on foam tape. And I finished off with some pale pink and clear sequins from Neat and Tangled.

Hi everybody, I popping in to give you a heads up about a new challenge that's starting on the 4th October....
This is tid-bit of my card for our first post. Can you guess what the challenge might be???
If your guessing flowers, your 100% right!!! I'm part of a new monthly challenge where its all things floral. Floral stamps, stencils, dies you name it. We all have so many flower stamps etc tucked away, it will be wonderful to give them some love on a more regular basis!

Hi everybody and welcome to October and a new designer to CASE at Happy Little Stampers - CASE the Designer challenge!!
This month we are CASEing a card by the amazing Birgit of Crafting While I Wait:
Isn't this just amazing!!! I love the different colours combined for her bird and the soft background is gorgeous. This is where I realised that I don't own many bird stamps (must remedy that.....) but managed to find one feathered friend to add to my design:
I started off by stamping the flamingo on some white CS, colouring with my pencils and fussy cutting out (and then realising that I actually own the matching die-cut....doh!!). I then cut out the faceted heart die from white CS as well.
For the background I used my mini blending tool and Distress Ink 'Picked Raspberry' to blend over the card front and then stamped the pineapple with Hero Arts Shadow Ink 'Bubblegum'. The heart die was glued to the front with the flamingo popped up on foam tape. The sentiment was heat embossed in white on a strip of black CS and adhered over the heart along with some pink and clear sequins.
The flamingo and sentiment are from Lawn Fawn 'Flamingo Together'. The heart die and sequins are from Neat and Tangled and the pineapple stamp is from Waffle Flower 'Willy and Friends'.
I'm going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'Anything Goes'.
