Funky Fossil Designs - National Coffee Day Blog Hop

Hello there!! Getting closer to the end of the week and hope your looking forward to something exciting or maybe relaxing at the weekend!

Its National Coffee Day in the U.S. and there is a fantastic blog hop to celebrate. The beginning of the hop starts at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog where they give you a list of all the Super Sponsors taking part. Each company will give you the chance to win some goodies and be inspired by coffee-related projects. You can even win a $20 gift voucher to the Super Sponsor of your choice by leaving a comment on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog post!

One of the Super Sponsors is Funky Fossil Designs and they are offering a 25 GBP (Sorry I can't work out how to get the pound sign on my keyboard....) gift voucher from one of the comments left on their blog post.

AND they have 10% off everything in store using the code  FFCOFFEE10 for the duration of the hop which finishes at midnight Tuesday 6th October.

They recently released the stamp set 'Time for Tea' which has images that could also be used for coffee. I used it to create a card for a friend:

This stamp set has such good patterns on the images for colouring and the markers I used are my favourite colours and starting to run out...eeek!!

I started by stamping the images on white CS using Gina K Amalgam Black ink, colouring with Altenew Artist Markers and then fussy cutting out. I wanted to create a 'kitchen bench' scene and thought I could create a tile-like pattern for the background. Using Altenew 'Sea Glass' ink and a square pattern stamp from the 'Scandi Garden' set, I stamped the pattern on the card front using my MISTI. I didn't measure or anything, just took my time to line things up.

Once that was finished I added a strip of wood veneer CS (for the bench) and popped the coffee pot and cups on foam tape. The sentiment (from the 'Time for Tea' set) was white heat embossed, backed with a similar blue CS and put on foam tape, along with Studio Katia pearls.

I'm off now to start hopping thru all the company blogs and leave lots of comments. You just never know, I could win some goodies. My husband would say I don't need anymore stamps/dies but I will never have enough!!

Take care

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps - New Release - Day 2

Hello there and welcome back to Day 2 of Release Week at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. All of the new products are available to purchase right now and we are spending the next few days showing them off.

Today we have the prettiest stamp set and matching dies to share with you. Introducing 'Everyday Dragonflies' and 'Dragonflies Fri-dies':

The dragonflies are so dainty with the similar floral print of other stamps from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and the dies fit perfectly over top. I knew what type of card I wanted to make as soon as I saw these:

You knew I'd have to fit a rainbow in somewhere!! And all these colours fitted so perfectly on the new 'Pinked Slimline Fri-dies'.

I started by die-cutting some light grey CS with the pinked-edge die and adhering to the card front. I also die-cut the smaller rectangle from white CS to act at the dragonfly base. I then spent quite a bit of time white heat embossing the smaller dragonfly on different shades of CS and die-cutting them out. All I had to do then was glue them on the base and pop it up on white foam. The sentiment was white heat embossed on the same grey CS, backed with navy CS and put on foam tape, along with Studio Katia pearls.

As I mentioned you can purchase these new products right now, and if you use my special code you can save yourself 15%!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you back here tomorrow to show off another stamp set and sentiment dies.

Take care

Congratulations on your new home!!

Hi everyone! Its so windy, I don't want to go outside but I need to go to the supermarket to get some basics. Thank goodness I never care about how my hair looks because this sort of weather would ruin any style. Its always windy here in Spring but we seem to forget that each year and are all shocked by the severity. Not the best for the fruit trees, hope the bee's get to pollinate my cherries before being blown away.....

I did some colouring AGES ago and over the weekend had a chance to finally put the cuties on a card:

I don't know what it is about this new Blogger system but my photos don't seem to be in focus anymore. They are when I adjust them in Photoshop for the size etc and never had problems before. Or maybe its just my eyesight?? Its very frustrating, has anyone else come across this?

I stamped all the images from the MFT Stamps 'Hanging with My Gnomies' with Gina K Amalgam Black ink on white CS, coloured with Altenew Artist Markers and fussy cut them out. On a panel of white CS I blended some Distress Ink 'Salty Ocean' with the MFT Stamps 'Cloud Stencil'. I then used 'Mowed Lawn' on the MFT Stamps 'Grassy Edges' Stencil (which you can only just see behind the house etc) I softly brought the colour down to the bottom.

I worked out where the house would go and then used a mix of grey markers and pens to create the pebble path. I also used a fine-tip black pen to create a hole for the worm. I glued the blue flowers, ladybird and worm in place and put all the other images on foam tape. The sentiment was white heat embossed and put on foam tape and I added lots of highlights with a white gel pen.

I don't add highlights very often to my colouring as I either forget or I'm not too sure where they should go. I love how they look on this card so must practice them from now on.

Right, no more procrastinating, I'm off to the supermarket. Thank goodness I weigh a lot so I won't blow away!!

Take care

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps - New Release - Day 1

Hi everybody!! I'm so very excited to share the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps New Release this week!

There are two stamp sets, one with matching dies, some sentiment dies and a huge new die set which we are showing off today. Introducing the 'Slimline Pinked Fri-dies':

Slimline cards are all the rage these days, so I'm over the moon to have this set to play with. Also you know how much I love die-cutting, I've got pages of ideas on how to use all the different dies in this set. You definitely get a lot for your money and the possibilities of projects to be made are endless!

For my card I've been getting a little worried about how little Christmas cards I have in my stash, so thought this was a perfect time to put one together:

The circle dies that come with this slimline set fit perfectly with so many other dies and sentiments. You will see me using them ALOT!

I started by creating a white slimline cardbase and die-cutting some white CS with the pinked edge die. This was adhered to the card front. I then die-cut the smaller rectangle die (again from white CS). I used the larger circle die to cut three windows from it. I also die-cut 3 snowflakes from the 'Funky Flakes Fri-dies'. I wanted the snowflakes to sparkle so I pressed them into my Versamark ink pad and heat embossed them with 'WOW! Metallic Silver Sparkle Embossing Glitter' . I did it twice so the coverage was good and thick.

Using Distress Inks 'Salty Ocean' and 'Chipped Sapphire' I created an ombre effect from light to dark blue (blue and white is one of my favourite Christmas colour combos). Once I was finished I used foam tape to add it to the card front and also to pop up the snowflakes in the windows. To finish off I used the same embossing powder with the sentiment (from 'Snowy Sayings'), backed with navy CS and put on foam tape, along with silver pearls from Studio Katia.

All of the New Release products are available RIGHT NOW in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Store and you can use my special code with them to save 15%!!

Thanks so much for coming by, I hope you've fallen in love with this new die set as much as I have, and I 'll see you back here tomorrow to show off another gorgeous new stamp set.

Take care
