Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge - Take 2

On Sunday I showed you all a card that I had put together using Mama Elephant 'The Cat's Meow'. I had coloured in a whole lot of pussy cats while tucked up in bed with my electric blanket and I still had some cute kitties left over, so decided to make a card just because. When was the last time I did that?????

I gotta tell ya, now I'm taking photos of my cards laying down, its SO MUCH easier to get a good shot with lots of sunshine. Why didn't I start doing this years ago????

If you've ever seen this Mama Elephant stamp set it, this is what it looks like:

When I was colouring in the large image of kitties I started thinking about other ways I could use this and the idea of cutting it up came to mind......

To start off I stamped the image on some white CS and coloured in what I wanted with pencils. I then worked out what groups of cats I could cut out without it looking odd and fussy cut away. I ended up with three groups of cats so expect more cards....

I thought these cats would look great in a frame and it turned out that this one fitted perfectly! I die-cut it twice from white CS and glued them together for a bit of stability. I then added foam tape to the back and put on my card front. To create the background colour I grabbed one of the frame inner negatives, blended with Distress Ink 'Peacock Feathers' and 'Mermaid Lagoon', creating an ombre effect. I also flicked it with a few drops of water for a bit of interest. I then added double-sided tape to the back of it and inlaid it in the frames.

I then just added some tape to the back of the cats and slipped them behind the frame and added a sentiment on foam tape. I felt it needed a bit of colour so I stamped and pencil coloured a balloon, fussy cut it, adhered in place along with some teal and clear sequins and added some Glossy Accents to make the balloon shine. I love how it turned out!!

The waffle/stitched frame die is from Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment stamp is from Mama Elephant 'Woodland Gifts' and the sequins from Neat and Tangled.

This is my second entry to the Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge where their theme is 'Anything Goes' and if I get myself organised, I might have one more kitty card to add before it closes!

I'm also going to link this to the Seize the Birthday Challenge where their topping this week is 'Splatter', just like the water marks on my background.

Right, its 9.15pm and time to make sure the kids are in bed and time I took myself there too. I had a VERY busy day in a garden today, especially trimming a hedge that was much higher than me and seemed never ending in length. My goodness it looked good though when I had finished. I seem to be good with straight hedges but I couldn't draw a straight line to save myself! No wonder I didn't become an Architect!!

Take care
Shona
